Endangered Birds of Belize Stamps
In 2009 the Belize Postal Service issued the first-ever Endangered Birds of Belize stamps. I was asked to advise on which bird species would be on the stamps. I chose the Harpy Eagle, Yellow-Headed Parrot, Slate-colored Seedeater, Green Honeycreeper and the Great Curassow.
These birds were selected to show the great variety and beauty of Belize birds that are endangered or rare in our country. It was my goal to raise awareness so all who enjoy these birds might work to protect them through habitat protection, conservation and education.
